In 107 minutes, 405 firefighters and law enforcement officers lost their lives as they worked to rescue civilian victims of the attack. Each year, the Winder Fire Department pays homage to these public safety personnel with a two hour long service which marks milestones of the tragic events of 9-11.

A 12 week old Dalmatian is the newest member of the Girard, Kansas Fire Department. Once she graduates from obedience training Molly will help to teach kids about fire safety. The department hopes to teach her to “Stop, Drop and Roll” to help teach kids to do the same. But for now, in a job that can be emotionally draining, they say it is nice for firefighters to have their new friend waiting …
