SACRAMENTO — The Sacramento Fire Department’s Urban Search and Rescue Team Task Force 7 has been awarded a $7,000 grant from the Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co. for training canine teams.

A 12 week old Dalmatian is the newest member of the Girard, Kansas Fire Department. Once she graduates from obedience training Molly will help to teach kids about fire safety. The department hopes to teach her to “Stop, Drop and Roll” to help teach kids to do the same. But for now, in a job that can be emotionally draining, they say it is nice for firefighters to have their new friend waiting …
